Hello, Dr MM Consultant Paediatric Neuropsychologist Leeds here from Medico-Legal and Neuroscience Partnership. I am a Consultant Paediatric Neuropsychologist and Chartered Clinical Psychologist. I am a NHS Consultant and hold private clinics for both clinical referrals and medico-legal reporting. I have been the clinical lead for Neuropsychology and Paediatric Psychology services. I hold the degree of Bachelor of Science (Hons.) 2:1 and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology awarded by the University of Leeds. I have completed courtroom and cross examination skills and report writing courses. I am registered with the British Psychological Society as a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and have completed post-doctoral training to ensure I hold Practitioner Full Membership of the Division of Neuropsychology of the British Psychological Society.
I am a Full Member of the Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychology, the Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors and am an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. I am a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Leeds, Faculty of Medicine and Health and am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. I have completed the British Paediatric Neurology Association’s Paediatric Epilepsy Training courses 1 and 2. I have twenty years’ experience in the field of Clinical Psychology and Paediatric Neuropsychology and I have authored multiple and recent publications.
I specialise in the assessment and treatment of children and young people with acquired brain injuries (e.g. traumatic brain injury, brain tumours, encephalitis, meningitis and stroke) and epilepsies. Assessment involves understanding the cognitive, psychological, educational and social impact of injury and neurological impairment. I see brain injured children and young people routinely for out-patient neuropsychological assessments to determine the effects of injury on cognitive functioning, (e.g. memory and attention), learning, behaviour and provide rehabilitation.
I have been the Chief Investigator for a national research study. My clinical and research interests include: childhood traumatic brain injury, brain tumours and their treatments, paediatric epilepsy surgery outcomes, effort testing, neuropsychological rehabilitation and the psychological treatment of children with acquired brain injuries.
